Dr. Swaminathan, M.E., Ph.D., (iFellow 2015), is the distinguished Director and Founder of Silicic Innova Technologies Pvt. Ltd., celebrated for his expertise VLSI Design. Having earned degrees from GCE- Erode, GCT, Coimbatore, India, Dr. Swami’s professional journey included impactful roles at Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd and Campton Co. Ltd., laying the groundwork for his significant contributions to the field.
His academic journey reached its pinnacle with a Ph.D. at NIT – Trichy, specializing in Network on Chip, garnering acclaim for groundbreaking research. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Swami established Silicic Innova Technologies, a VLSI startup funded by DeiTY at NIT – Campus, Tiruchirapalli, India, with international recognition through the prestigious iFellowship in 2015. This provided him with invaluable experiences at esteemed institutions such as AIIMS, IITD, QUT, Australia, and Stanford, US.
Assuming the role of Head – FPGA Development at Jiva Sciences Pvt Ltd in 2018, Dr. Swami spearheaded diverse projects in leading research labs across Australia, Canada, India, South Korea, China, and the US. His substantial contributions to the field include multiple publications in leading journals and patents in VLSI and embedded technologies.
Dr. Swami’s research interests span a broad spectrum, encompassing Embedded System Design, Image/Video Processing, Internet of Things, Wearable Technologies, Hardware Accelerators for AI, FPGA-Based System Design, System on Chip (SoC), Network on Chip (NoC), and Design/Verification of Complex Digital Systems. As a Principal Engineer at Smart IOPs Inc, he led a 15-member hardware team dedicated to developing High-Speed FPGAs for PCIe NVMe SSDs.
Beyond his technical acumen, Dr. Swami is a devoted mentor, guiding over 100 students from NIT- Trichy and various institutions in the field of VLSI, underscoring his commitment to education and nurturing future talent in the continually evolving landscape of VLSI design and related technologies.
